Thanks, i will try that and with any luck it will help.

good luck! It also might help to get a little kid cook book. They usually contain basic recipes like spaghetti, salads, sammies, omlets, etc. The extra responsibility of following the recipe might distract him enough to eat what he has cooked!

Thanks for the advice. I hope it works my son will not eat and im running out of ideas.

My 2 year old loves to cook with me. Getting her involved makes her proud and motivated to eat it. Also, we like to try new things often, couscous night instead of pasta night, etc. I have made up kooky names as well, like worms (spaghetti) and little trees (broccoli). And if he likes cheese there's no harm in putting it atop his veggies once in a while. Now we have started a chart that shows her good eating habits at dinner. If she does well all week she can get a scoop of frozen yogurt on Saturday. When all else fails I just tell her she'll be very hungry if she doesn't eat her dinner...usually gets the point across that she won't get anything else so if she doesn't eat she DOESN'T eat (she has yet to leave the table without eating supper!). She also has a couple of fun dinner items, like placemats and special plates...that makes it more fun to sit down at the table and eat. Oook now I'm done rambling!

10/04/08 09:01 AM, risa wrote:

my niece was almost 4 by the time she was trained and when it happened it's like something just clicked. For my daughter we rewarded her with pennies and a clear glass pigg bank. She loved earning money and watching her piggy get full. She was trained at 2 (started before her second birthday). Some kids just need to take it in their own time.

ok my niece is 2 1/2. they are starting to potty train her. when her dad has her on the weekend he would out in in underwear and a diaper at night. you can tell when she has to go because she holds herself. so he puts her on her own special potty that she picked out and she would just cry. like she is scared. i've shown her stickers she could have her dad made her a potty chart with stickers ..told her when she goes they will go to the store and she could pick out whatever she wants for being a big girl. this child will cry until he lefts her off then 2 minutes later she would go on herself. it was sooo easy to potty train my 1 1.2 year old but we tried everything. does anyone else know something we can try shes 3 in feb. and a very smart girl just dont know whats goin on in her head. could there be something else
